MARMO –
CAD
“
Project for training and employment of specialized operators for CAD
planning of machines and plants in the field of marble workings ”

The MarmoCAD course, held between October 2001 and June
2002, trained 16 specialists of CAD planning.
This project, financed by the Ob. 3 ban in Massa Carrara, was
successfully set up by a group of partner among which:
AsseforCamere,
KiOSCO srl,
DST sasand IMM (International Marble and Machines) together with CCIAA
from Massa Carrara.

Overview
The MarmoCAD project stays within
the general contest described in the Operating Regional Program Ob.3, in the
Planning Complement for Ob.3 and in the Territorial Pact of Massa-Carrara
Province to create new jobs. It was made for 16
unemployed within the criteria A2 (students) and A3 (unemployed).
MarmoCAD is an
experimental project made to develop an approach divided in different
teaching methods all within a single training course.
The goal of MarmoCAD was to create, develop and manage a training able to
use all the new technologies and new teaching.
The
professional figure we wanted to train is a CAD
Technician able to work in the stony sector.
We are talking about a technician able to use his/her competences in matter
of CAD 2D and 3D together with a good knowledge of technological
web-compatible instruments in the field of both marble working and marble
working machines.
Until now, the lack of these kind of technicians stopped the development of
those stony enterprises that focus their attention on the creation of
virtual and web objects.
Gli
Goals
-
The realization of a course which is the most effective prove that
innovative approaches, methods and technologies are the basis for the
future application of largely used programs like CAD in order to
find a job for at least a half of our students..
-
Show the possibility to
reach a good balance between investing in training courses and sharing
competences thanks to on-line guided drills.
-
Show the possibility to use the public expense on a local scale in the
best way, that is by creating new professional figures able to improve
the global economic reality of local training systems.
-
Spread this model so that it can be used also in other different
territorial realities where it can work thanks to a dialog between the
training system and the involved subjects.
Achieved
results
-
By the end of the course,
of the
16 students who took part to it, 9 have successfully ended their training
and gained new competences, new awareness of their working potential and
bigger capacity to go on with their training.
-
Before
the end of the course, some students received some working proposals
by enterprises in the marble and technical drawing sector and, to
accept these proposals, 2 students left the course while other 5 of
them left the course to accept proposals coming from companies far from
the stony field.
-
The students spent their
stage
by some big enterprises of the marble workings, the marble machineries and
the strictly stony sector.
By the end of the stage, the judgement of the hosting companies was
absolutely positive both for the personal commitment of the
students and for the demonstration of the gained new competences.
This is shown by the fact that many companies
offered their students a working contract and 4 of them decided to
accept this job.
One student decided to open a laboratory of his own for electronic and
PC repair and CAD planning.
-
We
put into practice the innovative ideas of this course. The use of a
remote lab -
MarmoLAB - showed that today it is possible to use this approach
even in situation near to the job reality.
The use of Internet based technologies helped the students work with
remote labs in the same conditions of the real operations. Without the
need to be physically present, the lab work has been made by the
students in the most appropriated moment that is when they were
theoretically studying that subject.
-
The final exam proved the students level and gave them the
Regional Certificate
of CAD Technicians.
-
Show the possibility to use the public expense on a local scale in the
best way, that is by creating new professional figures able to improve
the global economic reality of local training systems.
-
Spread this model so that it can be used also in other different
territorial realities where it can work thanks to a dialog between the
training system and the involved subjects.
